Who Let the Dogs Out

I am loving the wedding dogs I’ve had the fortune to meet lately. As a dog owner myself, I fully appreciate couples including these fur babies into their day.
Some helpful things to keep in mind if you’re going to have your dog at your wedding :

  1. Have someone designated to be a ‘handler’. Meaning this is a person your dog is very comfortable with and who is great with dogs. Your dog will be overly stimulated by so many people and it will render the dog a little more antsy than usual + wanting to look for you because it is with you they feel safest. Having someone there that the dog trusts is a huge help!

  2. Dogs will be dogs. Most pups get really excited when they see you! They like to jump up and greet you with their paws. Dog hugs are the sweetest thing and it makes my heart full to receive one. It just might not be something you welcome if you’re in a white dress. So just expect your dog to want to jump on you and avoid it if you can. Dog should be kept on a leash throughout at least the early hours of the wedding to avoid any accidents :)

  3. Bring treats! It is a log day for these guys and having familiar treats for them can really help soothe them and keep them calmer throughout the wedding.

I look forward to meeting allll your wedding pooches.
